It’s 58th birthday of Gujarat state and also a birthday of Maharashtra state. In the 58 years, Gujarat has become the growth engine of the country. In Indian economy and GDP growth, Gujarat has a major contribution.

Gujarat has only 6 per cent of India’s land mass and 5 per cent of population, but the state has a major contribution to India’s GDP and 22 per cent of its exports.
Gujarat which is a home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has a Gross State Domestic Product growth averaged at 10 % from 2001 to 2013, which is faster than India’s GDP growth.
