World’s largest online messaging app WhatsApp is on a roll. Recently WhatsApp introduced live location and delete for everyone feature, now company is preparing for another feature.
As per the reports, WhatsApp is going to enable payment option through its app. You can make digital transactions to your contacts. We are hearing about this for a long time but now it is confirmed. WhatsApp is already working and testing the payment feature.
Company may officially roll out the payment feature sometime around December and probably they will roll out in India first due to large user base.
Earlier there were reports that WhatsApp is talking with financial institutions for the payment feature. Well, if this works out then it will surely be a trouble for Indian payment companies.
WhatsApp developers are seemingly testing the feature. WhatsAp may conduct some sort of extended beta program for the payment feature in November before the final roll out in December.
WhatsApp is in talks with three major banks of India – SBI, ICICI bank and HDFC bank for the UPI based payment system.
How to Use WhatsApp Payment Feature?
With WhatsApp pay, it will be a threat for other digital payment companies. You don’t need to leave the chat window. This means, like other sharing options, you can send money to any of your contact.
For the payment feature, you need to go to the attachment and there will be option for payment. Well, WhatsApp has not revealed the official name for this feature. The payment option will come with a Rupee symbol.
To make payment through WhatsApp, you need to Attachment > Rupee symbol > click it.
Then it will ask you to enter the amount to be paid and personal identification number and then send. The receiver will get a message like a new message. The receiver will have an option to accept or reject the payment. The user will have to link their bank details for the payment process, for sure.
