IPL 2018 Player Retention: MS Dhoni Back to CSK- List of Star Players Retained

It was Indian Premier League Player Retention 2018 event held on Thursday, 4 January 2018 and as all know, the event went as per the predictions.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli became the most expensive retained player. Virat’s current franchise team RCB retained him by paying Rs 17 crore. The franchise broke the barrier of Rs 15 crore.

India’s most successful captain MS Dhoni will play IPL season 11 2018 from his previous team Chennai Super Kings, who are back to the game after two years of ban.

CSK franchise paid Rs 15 crore to retain MS Dhoni. Even, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja are also back to CSK.

Rohit Sharma stayed with Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, the surprise came when RCB retained Sarfaraz Khan along with Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers.

Royal Challengers Bangalore also retained South African legend player AB De for Rs 11 crore.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals retained Steve Smith.

IPL Season 11 2018 player auction will be on 27 and 28 January 2018. The teams that have retained 3 players, can get three right-to-match card options on the day of auction.

Kings XI Punjab surprised all as they chose to retain left-arm spinner Axar Patel over Maxwell and Miller.
