After Ghogha to Dahej Ro-Ro ferry service, Gujarat State Government will soon start ferry service from Hazira port. Every day there will be 3 ferry services to 3 different locations of Saurashtra region of Gujarat.
Surat’s Hazira port will have Ro-Ro ferry services to Victor port (Rajula), Diu and Veraval. In the return trip, all three Ferries will come to Hazira’s Kribhco jetty. This new ferry service will provide facility to more than 25 lakh people of Saurashtra who are living in South Gujarat.
State government has started preparation for design of Ro-Ro Ferry boat service at Kribhco jetty at Hazira, Surat. People of Rajula, Mahuva, Savarkundla, and Amreli will get benefit of Hazira to Victor ferry service. Una, Kodinar town people will get benefit of Ro-Ro ferry service of Hazira to Diu.
People who will travel on ferry boat can also bring their car together. This boat service will also enable people to visit historical Somanth temple near Veraval. South Gujarat people can take blessings of Somnath temple in just one day.
Hazira to Saurashtra Ro-Ro Ferry service will run at an average speed of 23 nautical miles. It will take 2 to 3 hours to reach destination.
Ghogha to Dahej Ro-Ro Ferry Service:
On 22nd October 2017, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Ghogha to Dahej at Ghogha, Bhavnagar. From Ghogha, PM Modi went to Dahej in Bharuch in the newly-launched the ferry service.
The on-road distance between the two towns will be down from 310 km to 30 km. The 31-km ferry service from Ghogha to Dahej will cut travel time from nearly eight hours to one and hugely benefit the people working in the diamond-cutting and polishing hub of Surat.
After that PM Modi also inaugurated development and infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1140 Crore in Vadodara. Prominent among these were a multi-level transport hub called Jan Mahal and several water purification and supply projects.
