Union Government informed Supreme Court on Thursday that it would extend the last date for linking Aadhaar card to various schemes till March 31, 2018. Earlier the last date to link aadhaar was 31 December 2017.
So it’s a relief news for a person who is not having his aadhaar card yet. Attorney General K K Venugopal told Supreme Court that the government will come out with notification about this on December 8.
However, linking Aadhaar card to mobile numbers will be valid till 6 February 2018.
How you can verify if your bank account is linked with Aadhaar:
Under Aadhaar services section, click the link ‘Check Aadhaar & Bank Account Linking Status’
New window will open where enter your Aadhaar number and security code. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Enter the OTP you received on your number and click on Login button.
In the logged in window, the box will show your status with a tick mark.
If your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account, it will show you success message.
On 1st June 2017, the government had announced that one must connect Aadhaar with bank account otherwise the account will be invalidated.
The government said in the affidavit that until March 31, existing bank accounts will not be made non-operational for not linking with Aadhaar.
