Hyundai is all set to launch with new engine option. Auto giant Hyundai is going to launch 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L Petrol engine in India tomorrow. Initially, the Hyundai Verna was available with 1.6L petrol and diesel engines.
There were four grades to choose from, E, EX, SX and SX (O). As expected, the Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol is available in only the E and EX grades.
All new 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L will have power mirrors, 15-inch steel wheels, tilt steering, rear armrest, 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents, dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD.
Well, you should note that a 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system, rear AC vents and cruise control aren’t available in the 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.6L petrol/diesel E model.
With the 1.4L engine option, Hyundai Verna will give tough competition to Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. According to some auto blogs, 1.4L petrol Hyundai Verna in Mumbai will cost you Rs 7.29 lakh for E Variant.
The 1.4 litre engine in the Verna is shared with i20 automatic. However, it is likely that Hyundai will soon discontinue the i20, considering that the i20 facelift is likely to launch at the Auto Expo next month.
The EX-trim variant will get keyless entry, rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps, a front armrest, a 5.0-inch touchscreen system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents and a driver’s seat height adjust additional to everything on the ES.
As, with the 1.4-litre engine, there is not much difference in terms of power loss and INR 70k price difference will surely make people to go for Hyundai Verna with 1.4L engine than 1.6L variant.
1.4L Verna will directly take on Maruti’s Ciaz 1.4 which starts from Rs 7.77 lakh. Hyundai Verna 1.6 Petrol makes 122 Bhp-153 Nm and the 1.6 Diesel makes 126 Bhp-260 Nm. Both engines are offered with 6 speed manual and automatic transmission options.
The starting price for the Hyundai Verna 1.4-litre (1.4E) variant is rs 7.29 lakh. Hyundai has yet not revealed prices for the better-equipped Verna in the 1.4EX trim as of now. The less-powerful Verna 1.4 is cheaper than the 1.6-litre base variant by Rs 70,000.
Well, Hyundai’s Verna 2017 model became Indian Car of the Year 2017.
More details are coming soon. Stay tuned.
