Bloated belly is itself a natural process of the body. In our normal state, about 1 liter of the stomach and intestine is filled with gas.
The air which is inside out stomach is the result of intestinal microflora microorganism’s work result. It helps in digestion. So if you take a food which is very hard to digest, the more gases are produced.
A healthy person can have several causes of bloating. As we said it is related to nutrition and the work of the stomach.
Here we are showing some effective ways to get rid of a bloated belly.
Drink warm water with lemon in morning-
Take a glass of warm water with lemon juice every morning. It helps to normalize the secretion of gastric acid and prevents belching and gas formation in the intestine. lemon contains a lot of vitamin C.
Don’t drink milk and coffee for breakfast-
Don’t take milk for breakfast as it is not a drink. It is a food and quite heavy. Milk increases acidity. Instead of milk, choose yogurt as it has probiotics and it helps in digestion process. Coffee and beer, they affect the stomach almost the same way as milk.
Don’t wash Food Down-
When you take drinks during a meal, it dilutes the gastric acid and concentration of enzymes. So food takes longer time to digest and consequently it increases gas formation and bloating.
Don’t Drink Alcohol on an Empty Stomach-
Alcohol stimulates the gastric acid production so if you take it on an empty stomach, it slows down its work. If you take it frequently, it kills the microflora of the stomach and intestines.
Drink Ginger tea-
Spicy ginger calms down the stomach and reduces the gas formation. It also dilutes the blood. And improves blood circulation.
Avoid Too Fatty Food-
Avoid fast foods and foods with heavy calories as it takes long time to digest. If you eat less fat, you can avoid both heaviness and feelings of discomfort.
Sometimes we are in a hurry so we eat in a hurry. Or we talk while eating, chew badly, drink carbonated drinks, or smoke, we are eating “Air” as well. It is not dangerous but it creates bloating.
Don’t Eat Too Much Fiber Rich Food-
There are so many fruits, vegetables which have excess fiber. If you eat more food with excess fiber, it causes gas and impedes the intestinal function. So don’t over eat the fiber rich food.
Sleep Well and Do Meditation-
Stress and restless mind disturbs your intestinal motility. So relax yourself. Do meditate for 15-20 minutes daily. It relaxes your mind, stomach, heart as well as normalizes blood circulation.
