Today, Xiaomi’s latest budget smartphone Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite will go on sale via Amazon India and Mi.Com. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 first sale was on November 8 but it went out of stock within few minutes.
As per Xiaomi, more than 1.5 lakh Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite units sold in just 3 minutes. Today Consumers will be able to buy the phones either from Amazon store or Xiaomi’s official website – Mi.com.
Redmi Y1 smartphone launched in 2 variants of 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. 3GB RAM variation is available at Rs 8999 while the 4GB RAM version comes at Rs 10999. Y1 Lite smartphone is having 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal storage and cost you Rs 6999.
According to the company, Redmi Y1 and Y1 lite designed for the youth who are looking for a big display and best selfie photos. Both the phones of Redmi come with a similar build and design with some changes in hardware specifications.
Redmi Y1 Specs Features:
Y1 is a selfie-centric phone. This new smartphone of Redmi comes with a 16MP front camera with LED flash. It also captured good pictures in low light. It has Beautify like features which help to capture good selfies.
Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. On the rear, both the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite come with a 13MP camera which is also coupled with PDAF and LED flash.
Xiaomi’s phones have 5.5-inch HD display with 2.5D corning Gorilla Glass 3. Both smartphones have battery of 3080mAh.
Redmi Y1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It can be expandable up to 128GB via micro-SD card.
This phone is also available in 3GB RAM version. Redmi Y1 smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner while the Y1 Lite doesn’t have this feature.
Redmi Y1 Price in India:
Rs 8,999 for 32GB and Rs 10,999 for the 64GB
Well, the Xiaomi’s latest phone doesn’t have a full HD 1080p display like Redmi Note 4. As Y1 is designed for the budget audience, it is not having the high level features. Still Y1 display is the bright with accurate color reproduction.
If you are watching videos on social media networks, Redmi Y1 is suited to the task.
The second-high point of this phone would be the battery. Redmi Y1 does not have a 4000 mAh battery on board like Redmi 4 series, but in my use this lasts over 12 hours, even with heavy usage. With moderate usage one can extend the battery life to a day as well. In the PCMark battery test, the phone scored 8 hours plus, which is quite good.
