Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 Dates Announced by Election Commission

Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 dates are declared by the Election Commission today. After 13 days of announcement of voting date for Himachal Pradesh, EC now announced the dates for Gujarat elections.

The opposition Congress accused the EC and BJP of giving the ruling BJP a grace period to make last minute announcements to influence voters. The EC and BJP have rejected these charges.

Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 Dates:

Voting on- 9th and 14th December 2017

Poll Counting on-  18th December 2017

Gujarat state will have voting in two phases on December 9 and December 14. Vote counting will be held on 18 December 2017.

The term of the 182-member Gujarat assembly gets over on January 23 next year.

These are the dates for the second phase:

Date of issue of gazette notification for second phase – November 20

Last day of nominations date – November 27

Date of scrutiny of nominations – November 28

Last date for withdrawal of candidature – November 30

Date of polling – December 14

These are the dates for the first phase of the Gujarat elections:

Date of issue of gazette notification for first phase – November 14, 2017

Last day to file nominations – November 21

Date of scrutiny of nominations – November 22

Last date for withdrawal of candidature – November 24

Date of polling – December 9
