Today, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is disqualified by Pakistan Supreme Court in Panama Papers hearing. Supreme Court disqualified Sharif from holding office. Also a case is filed against Pakistan PM.

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) collected all materials within 6 weeks to the court. Also, cases would be opened against Captain Muhammad Safdar, Maryam, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz as well as Nawaz Sharif. Within 30 days, Supreme Court will announce the judgement.

Allegedly, Sharif was involved in money laundering to buy assets in London in the 1990s. In 2016, Panama Papers leak revealed that the offshore companies are managing the assets which is owned by Sharif’s children.

Multiple new agencies carried out Panama Papers investigation when the ICIJ shared fies from the Mossack Fonseca’s database.

Today noon after Supreme Court’s judgement, now Nawaz Sharif cannot participate in election and also can’t hold party at least for 5 years. After Iceland PM left the office in Panama Papers case, Sharif is the second PM.

As the new case is registered against Sharif, he could be even arrested in future. After the verdict, Pakistani PM stepped down from his post immediately.

Supreme Court Judg Ejaz Afzal Khan said, “He is no more eligible to be an honest member of the parliament, and he ceases to be holding the office of prime minister,”

Also a criminal investigation would be started against Nawaz’s family. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was also ordered removed from office.

Ishaq Dar was Sharif’s former accountant. He is considered as one of the most influential people in Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet.

Also, no Pakistan Prime Minister has completed 5-years term. Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain Mohammad Safdar has been disqualified from Parliament by the Supreme Court.
