Today the Apex Court ordered CBSE to declare the NEET 2017 exams results by 26 June. National Eligibility and Entrance Test is an exam for admission to the country’s medical and colleges. This news will surely bring relief to million students who are waiting for their results.
Even Supreme Court stayed Madras High Court’s order due to which CBSE restrained from declaring the result of NEET 2017.
The CBSE board would have to put more than a million answer sheets so this process would surely take some time. But now officials have to release the result by 26th June.
A vacation bench of justice Prafulla C Pant and justice Deepak Gupta accepted the CBSE’s argument that if the stay was not vacated, college schedules would be thrown out of gear.
Madras High Court ordered stay on result after pleas alleging that the question paper was not uniform. Even the question paper was having a big difference between the ones in English and in Tamil.
For this plea, CBSE clarified to the court that the question papers in regional languages and English were different but difficulty was same for all.
NEET exams are for admissions to under-graduate medical MBBS and BDS courses and post-graduate programs in Government and private colleges.
This year, more than 1.2 million students appeared in NEET 2017 exam. Almost millions wrote the exam in English and Hindi.
