India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Jio to offer JioFiber broadband service for homes. Around Diwali 2017, the Company plans to offer data at rates which one cannot imagine and can start a price war again.
Reliance Jio to start its JioFiber home broadband service on Diwali and company may offer 100GV data at just Rs 500.
However, this is not the first time when there is a news about JioFiber service. Earlier some reports quoted that Company will launch JioFiber broadband services in June 2017. In May, Reliance Jio’s official Twitter handle had tweeted saying the JioFiber Preview Offer is currently being offered on a trial basis in some cities.
Reliance Jio tweeter handle tweeted earlier, “The JioFiber Preview Offer has currently been launched in select areas of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara. Our network is in the process of being rolled out to other cities.”
In September 2016, there were reports of JioFiber is under testing with 100 Mbps speed in some cities. Company is testing it in Chennai, Mumbai.
So after taking telecom market at the storm, now Reliance Jio’s JioFiber plan will take the wired Internet world to the storm. Reliance Jio’s disruptive pricing model will make other Internet providers to suffer a lot.
After getting a strong hit by Reliance Jio mobile network, now its rival Airtel is offering 1000GB data free for a year if they sign up for the broadband service via online.
Currently Airtel is giving 60GB data for Rs 899 but now with bonus, they extend data to 750 GB free for one year. However, this free data offer is valid only to NCR region.
ACT broadband service provider started a plan for 1GB per second internet speed in Hyderabad with 1TB download limit at a price of Rs 5999. They also extended operations to Delhi and offering 100 Mbps speed.
If Jio launches JioFiber 100GB data at Rs 500, it will surely create a cyclone in the Internet Service Providers market.
So for that we have to wait till Diwali to know if this is true or just a rumor.
