Today, BCCI released that OPPO Mobiles India is the new team sponsors for Indian Cricket team. Mobile manufacturer OPPO signed contract with Board of Control for Cricket in India. This contract will begin from April 2017 and continue for 5 years.
The mobile manufacturing giant OPPO’s association with BCCI will start from April 2017 for a period of five years.
Till now, Star India were the sponsor of Indian cricket team. Star India had stated that they would be bidding for the sponsorship for the next cycle. Star India had made it clear that it would not seek a renewal of its sponsorship deal, which was to end next month.
In 2013, Star India took over as the sponsor of Indian cricket team from Sahara as BCCI declared Sahara ineligible.
Now, OPPO India will get its logo on men’s and women’s cricket kits.
According to reports, Star India’s bid was worth Rs 19.2 million per match for bilateral series and Rs 6.1 million per match for ICC sponsored tournaments.
Still now, there is no update regarding OPPO’s bid details.
As per the latest news, Indian team won the second test against Australia in Bangalore by 75 runs. R. Ashwin’s 6 wickets helped Indian team to save the match.
