Bollywood director Karan Johar has become father to twins – a girl and a boy. KJo becomes single parent through surrogacy last month.
Popular filmmaker Karan Johar was not in Mumbai but government officials confirmed this news as twins’ births were registered with its public health department on Friday, 3rd March 2017.
As per leading daily’s reports, Karan’s twins were born in Mumbai’s Masrani Hospital in Andheri West on 7th February 2017. Yesterday Karan Johar tweeted about this and also confirmed his twin babies’ names as Yash and Roohi.
Karan Johar Son Name: Yash
Karan Johar Daughter Name: Roohi
KJo named his baby boy ‘Yash’ after his father’s name and he named his baby girl ‘Roohi’ which is a rearrangement of his mother’s name Hiroo.
Karan’s close friend and superstar Shahrukh Khan’s little boy AbRam was also born in the same hospital to a surrogate mother. The BMC has taken the declaration of Dr Masrani and his infertility clinic about the birth.
Last year, in June 2016, actor Tusshar Kapoor also became father to a son, Laksshya through in-vitro fertilization and surrogacy.
However, recently KJo published his autobiography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’. In that book, Karan had expressed a desire to adopt a child or have a surrogate child as his old-age insurance policy.
At the launch of his autobiography, Karan had said, “I don’t know what I’m going to do about it but I feel like I would like to be a parent. I don’t know how it’s going to happen but I do feel the need because I have plenty of love to offer and I’d like to take it forward. This feeling needs a release and requires a platform. And that platform could be by being a parent,”
Bollywood Celebrities Congratulated KJo:

However, Union Health minister introduced surrogacy bill in Lok Sabha in November 2016. As per it, the draft bill bans commercial surrogacy, prohibiting any payment for women taking up surrogacy. It also bans surrogacy for singles, foreigners and persons of Indian origin.
So Congratulations Karan Johar…
