Today, 11th October 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the the historic Aishbagh Dussehra Mela in Lucknow. Navneet Sahgal said Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will receive PM Modi at the city airport but is unlikely to attend the programme.
For the last 70 years, the Lucknow Aishbagh Ramlila committee has been sending an invitation to the Prime Minister Narenddra modi and this year, PM Modi has accepted an invition.
On Sunday, 9th October, 2016, PM Modi said that, Vijayadashami will be “very special” this year. It is expected to be at the Aishbagh in Lucknow for about an hour. He is likely to deliver a 20-minute speech and watch the final act of Ram Leela, the killing of the demon king Ravan. But PM Modi is scheduled to leave before the demon king Ravan statue is burnt.
PM Modi wished nation on the occasion of Dusshera. He tweeted,
“Vijaya Dashmi greetings to you all. विजयादशमी के पावन पर्व पर आप सभी को शुभकामनाएं।”
Harishchandra Agarwal said around 30,000 people will be allowed on the ground, and more than 2 lakh people are expected to watch the telecast live on 20 LCD screens put up outside.
According to reports, due to security reasons PM Modi will only participate in Vijayadashami celebrations and leave the venue before the firecrackers begin.
