Pakistan Bans Broadcast of All Indian Television Channels

India’s Neighbor country Pakistan banned Indian TV Channels. Pakistan did so because recently Indian producer’s association decided to ban Pakistani artists and technicians in Indian Cinema, and also Zee Network stopped airing Pakistani TV show.

Therefore, the Pakistani Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) also announced its decision that Pakistan bans broadcast of all “illegal” Indian television channels across the nation from 15th October, 2016.

Today, on 1st October 2016 PEMRA announced about banning Indian television channels.

The PEMRA has strictly warned that strict action would be taken according to law after 15th October, 2016 if TV channels and distribution networks failed to follow the directions.

The authority also said it was receiving various complaints on illegal Indian content being aired on satellite TV channels network. This decision was taken after looking at the current situation of both country.

So, PEMRA have been announced to impose instant ban on broadcast and distribution of illegal Indian content and illegal Indian DTH service. This decision taken by PEMRA comes after the Indian producers’ association decided to ban Pakistani artistes and actors in Indian cinema until situation improves between both countries.

Amidst demands for Pakistan artists to leave India after Uri attacks. Uri attacks killed 18 soldiers on 18th September, 2016.  Zee network also announced it will stop airing Pakistani serials.

Zindagi television channel launched in 2014 became popular with the Indian masses after showcasing various Pakistani shows such as Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam, Sasural Ki Galli, Noor Bano, Main Bushra and Jab We Wed.

Previously, the MNS in Mumbai also had asked Pakistani actors to leave India or face consequences. MNS’ Cine Workers Association, Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (CKS) president Ameya Khopkar warned that they won’t agree to the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Sarukh Khan’s Raees as the films starring Pakistani actors Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Mahira Khan in Raees.
