Yesterday, 22nd September, 2016, Adani Green Energy, which is a part of the Adani Group opened the world’s largest single location solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, which will produce 648MW of electricity.
According to Adani Green Energy statement, the solar power plant was made in a span of eight months at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram district. According to a report, the solar power plant is connected to a 400 kilovolt substation of Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation and is valued at Rs. 4,550 crore.
Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani said that, “This is a big occasion for Tamil Nadu as well as for the entire country. We are happy to dedicate this plant to the nation. A plant of this magnitude restores the country’s ambitions of becoming one of the leading green energy producers in the world.”
About World’s Largest Solar Power Plant:
Gautam Adani also said that I would like to express our deepest thanks to chief minister and the government of Tamil Nadu. This solar power plant contains of 3.80 lakh foundations, 25 lakh solar modules, 27,000 mt of structure, 576 inverters, and 154 transformers alongside with 6,000-km cables.
In addition, by involving the Kamuthi 400 KV substation, this solar power plant becomes the world’s largest solar power plant at a single location in Tamil Nadu.
For development of the factory, Adani Group had sourced equipment and machinery from various parts of the world in a time period of eight months. Around 8,500 personnel worked for an average nearby 11 mw of installation in a day to set up the solar power plant in the specified time.
