Sindhu’s Parents Were Volleyball players and her father was awarded Arjuna Award. PV Sindhu has ranked in top 10 in the World Badminton Rankings for the most part of 2014.
Sindhu started playing Badminton at the very early age of 8 years, inspiring from Gopichand Pullela’s victory.
she joined Pullela Gopichand’s badminton academy to become a leading player, but her initial training was done with Mehboob Ali.
PV Sindhu’s Achievements:
She came on rank 5th Servo All India Ranking championship for under-10 category.
She also won the singles title at the Ambuja Cement All India ranking.
At the 51st National School Games in India, Sindhu won the gold medal in under -14 category
Sindhu won a bronze medal at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships held in Colombo, when she made her international debut.
P V Sindhu won Macau Open Grand Prix Gold Title in 2013 and also won Arjun Award
Sindhu won back-to-back medals in the World Badminton Championship in 2014 and became the first Indian to do so.
She won the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold women’s singles title in 2016
In Rio 2016, she won Silver medal after losing in final against Carolina Marin, World’s No. 1 Badminton Player.
