Maruti Suzuki Ciaz reached 1 lakh unit sales milestone in June 2016. Maruti Suzuki’s premium mid-size sedan car Ciaz has crossed 1 lakh cumulative sales milestone in Indian market. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz premium sedan car was launched in October 2014.
Maruti’s Ciaz is in competition with Honda’s City in the over 4-metre sedan segment in the country. Maruti had reduced the price of Ciaz in May 2016 and made it cheaper by up to Rs 2.91 lakh than Honda City. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is available in Petrol and Diesel variants.
Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz is the first car to offer Smartplay Infotainment System. The company claims that it is one of the most fuel efficient diesel car at an average of 28.09 km/litre.
Maruti Ciaz is also exported to Africa, South America, Central America, Middle East, ASEAN and SAARC countries and its cumulative exports till end of June 2016 stood over 18,000 units.
R S Kalsi, executive director, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “Today, Ciaz is the largest selling sedan in the A3+ segment. It has enabled us to achieve a market share of 40% in the premium sedan segment. Success of Ciaz is very encouraging as it demonstrates customers’ confidence in Maruti Suzuki and reinforces our commitment to offer premium products in the upper segments.”
Ciaz has the stylish design, spacious cabin, and best-in-class fuel efficiency of 28.09 km/l. Tt also comes with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology which is only in the diesel model. In fact, it also qualifies to get incentive of Rs. 13,000 from the Government of India’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles) initiative.
Some of the features include projector headlamps, alloy wheels, turn indicators on ORVMs, leather seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering, start-stop button, etc.
