Idea Cellular announces cut down in Mobile data charges across all circles in India. Idea is India’s 3rd largest telecom network. Idea slashed mobile internet charges on their 4G, 3G and 2G data packs to Prepaid customers.
Cut down in Mobile data pack charges is to retain and attract new users to Idea ahead of Reliance Jio 4G launch. With revised mobile data plans, now Idea users can get up to 45 percent more data. Especially this scheme is beneficial for data packs under 1 GB.
Idea 2G Mobile Data pack of Rs 19 offering 75 MB for 3 days will offer 110 MB data for the same validity. This is 45 percent more data to the customers.
Idea 3G/4G Mobile data pack of Rs 22 offering 65 MB data for 3 days will give 90 MB data for the same validity. This is almost 38 percent more data to the consumers.
Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer of Idea Cellular, speaking about the concession said internet is one of the major drivers of the Indian economy and Digital India.

This move to reduce mobile data pack charges is taken as Reliance to launch Reliance Jio 4G service possibly from next month. Before commercially launch of Reliance Jio, there is likely a tariff war in industry. As many telecom operators are reducing their data charges.
Idea Cellular’s revised mobile data packs will be applicable from 15 July 2016 across all circles.
