Kutchi people celebrate Ashadhi Beej as A Kutchi New Year Ashadhi Beej is 2nd day of Shukla paksha of Aashaadha month of Hindu calendar. As for people of Kutch, this day is associated with start of rains in Kutch, which is largely a desert area. Ashadhi Beej festival falls on Hindu calendar month of Aashaadha.
