The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the final result of Civil Services Examination 2015 on 10th May 2016, Tuesday. Twenty-two-year-old Tina Dabi from Delhi has topped the prestigious civil services exams 2015. The UPSC IAS examination was conducted by the Union Public service Commission (UPSC) in December 2015 and the interviews for personality test were held in March-May 2016.
In the second position was Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Jammu and Kashmir. Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, who is also from Delhi, has secured the third position. Candidates can check the full list online on upsc.gov.in website. Candidates will be allocated various services, from Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
UPSC topper 22 year old Tina Dabi said that, “When I first saw the result, I had to check a few times to be sure. I certainly thought I would make the merit list. But I had never imagined I would top. I always wanted to work in a challenging state. That is why I chose Haryana. We all know the sex ratio of girl and boy child is quiet less and that is why I would like to contribute my efforts for the empowerment of women there.”
23-year-old Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan secured his second position in IAS examination. He said that, “I had appeared last year but my ranking was down and, therefore, I was offered Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). I joined but IAS was my first love and I planned to to do both — join the training and appear again.” Hailing from Devipora-Mattan village in Anantnag district, 60 km south of Srinagar, Khan, son of a school teacher, says he became interested in joining IAS after Shah Faesal from the Kashmir Valley topped Civil Services Examination in 2009. “I did not have a great exposure to coaching classes but I was confident that I can do it. Extensive reading and complete dedication made me realise my dream.”
