6,6,6, 6 That’s How West Indies become the winner of World T20 2016 after lots of ups and downs.
A High Voltage World T20 2016 final match was held at Eden Gardens Kolkata between West Indies and England. West Indies won the Final of World T20 2016 by 4 wickets and become 2 times T20 World Cup Tournament Winner on 3rd April 2016, Sunday. West Indies Cricketer Carlos Brathwaite hit 4 consecutive sixes to let his team won the match and title.
Apart from West Indies Men’s team won ICC World T20 2016 tournament, their Women’s team also won their first T20 World Cup and the U-19 team also won U-19 World Cup which created a historic treble for the Windies. They have shown the World Cricket that they are ready to stand up on a big stage.
Windies Opening Player Marlon Samuels played a key role in winning the World Cup. Samuels stabilized the Windies innings with Dwayne Bravo and scored a bulk of the runs too after his team’s top orders got failed in the opening overs.
The World T20 2016 runner up Team England has also played very well but they got unfortunate in the last over of the match when West Indies was needed 19 runs off 6 balls. England’s new star Joe Root has performed exceptional throughout the World Cup. After the match completion, at the Awards Ceremony, there was one good moment for India when Virat Kohli was named as “Man of the Tournament” and that time Eden Gardens stadium saw the loudest cheer from the crowd.
Just Like celebration after Semi-final match win, one more time people had seen the wild celebration of Windies players. The Winning team went back to the centre and lifted Marlon Samuels and Carlos Brathwaite, the heroes of West Indies’ win.
West Indies T20 team Skipper Darren Sammy and Chris Gayle had the show without T-shirt. They kept celebrating and the celebrations are expected to last till Monday morning, at least.
West Indies Players’ t-shirts were off and they took an energetic tour of the Eden Gardens, humming DJ Bravo’s champion, and complementing it with the trademark moves.
Again Marlon Samuels was the man of the final for the West Indies just like 2012. In 2012, he did this in style against Sri Lanka in the final, and here he was again, against England. West Indies rode on Samuels to first bail them out of trouble and then finally seal the thrilling win after pressure of early overs and wicket loss. Samuels remained notout on a 66-ball 85 as he saw Brathwaite score the winning runs – 24 off just four balls.
So Congratulations to West Indies for being 2nd time winner of ICC World T20 2016…
