GL vs SRH IPL 2016 : Sunrisers Hyderabad Won Match Against Gujarat Lions in Rajkot

Gujarat based IPL Team Gujarat Lions had started its journey with 3 consecutive wins but Yesterday, on 21 April 2016, Gujarat Lions vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2016 Match was played in Rajkot at Khandheri Cricket Stadium and SRH landed the GL team by 10 wickets. GL vs SRH IPL Match 2016 toss was won by SRH Captain David Warner and it played an important part in the game. David Warner chose to field first.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers stopped Gujarat’ roaring Batsmen to only 135 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. Chasing the easy target of 135 runs, SRH Captain David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan chased the score in just 14.5 overs and beat Gujarat Lions by 10 wickets. David Warner Score 74 Runs off 48 balls and he also became the Highest Scorer of the Vivo IPL 2016 season.

Indian Opening Batsman Shikhar Dhawan was getting failed from last sometimes, he came back to his form with 53 runs from 41 balls. SRH bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar again become the Hero of the last over like 2007 T20 World Cup and took 3 wickets of GL which earned him awards of Man of the Match.

Bangladeshi bowler Mustafizur Rahman bowled a beautiful spell of just 19 runs from 4 overs. Spinner Deepak Hooda bowled three overs and managed to get the wicket of Gujarat Lions Wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, who once again failed to perform with the bat.

GL’s Hero Aaron Finch got out in the 1st over, which led fielding team to control the match. Left-handed batsman Suresh Raina became the fifth batsman to reach 6000 T20 runs but his 75 runs off 51 balls innings did not help much to his team. Regular wicket falls bound the GL team to score only 135 runs. Brendon McCullum was the second highest scorer with 18 runs. And it pretty much summed up the plight of the batting at home.

In GL vs SRH match, Suresh Raina tried 7 bowlers but all the bowlers gave more than 7 runs per over. In the power play overs, SRH team scored 63 runs. Raina introduced Dhawal Kulkarni little bit late and he could have also brought Ravindra Jadeja earlier which might have helped him.

Now, Gujarat Lions will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Rajkot on 24th April 2016, Sunday.
