EgyptAir Hijack Live : Cyprus Foreign Minister Confirms Hijackers Arrested

An EgyptAir flight was hijacked while flying from the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria to the capital, Cairo and later landed in Larnaca in Cyprus on today, 29 March 2016. Recently Cyprus Foreign Minister declared that Hijackers are arrested.

12:43 pm: Cyprus foreign ministry Secretary General says hijacker has indicated intention to free a certain no. of passengers


12:30 pm: The hijacker is thought to be strapped with explosives, Cyprus broadcaster CYBC said on Tuesday.


12:15 pm: A Cypriot government official says the hijacked plane landed on Tuesday morning at the airport in Larnaka and that there are suspicions of a bomb on board.


12:08 pm: The statement from the Egyptian aviation authority says the MS181 is an Airbus and that it has 55 passengers on board and five crew members.

The hijacked flight of EgyptAir was landed in Larnaca city of Cyprus. The EgyptAir Flight had the foreigners on board included eight Americans, four Britons, four Dutch, two Belgians, a French national, an Italian, two Greeks and one Syrian. Three other foreigners could not be identified.

This Hijack controversy points a finger about security at Egyptian Airports.
