After an Ice landslide six days ago in a remote area of Himalayans, a miracle happened that one from the 10 soldiers have been rescued alive. Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad was buried under 25 feet of ice in temperatures close to minus 40 degrees for six days.
He was found on Monday night, 8th February 2016 and there was no chance of him being alive as only his pulse was working. Koppad was immediately send to a warm tent where he was treated by medical team. On Tuesday 9th February he was shifted in army hospital at New Delhi as his condition was critical.
In the rescue operation among 10 soldiers only this one soldier was found alive and others all were no longer. He was buried nearly 25 ft under snow and all hopes the miracle continues. Specialist army and air force teams had been searching other soldiers who are missing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh visited Army Research and Referral Hospital to meet Hanamanthappa. Entire nation is praying for him. No words to describe the spirit of this soldier as he is an outstanding soldier.
Efforts to locate the bodies of remaining soldiers will be continued by the army. Armys have been shifting large amount of ice even digging at more than 30 ft. to search the soldiers who got buried in avalanche.
We are happy that one soldier was bought alive and the deepest condolence to 9 of them who are now no longer. We salute these brave armies’ for not giving up their efforts in finding buried soldiers. And in toughest condition they could at least find one alive.
