PM Modi’s Wife Jashodaben Files RTI Application on PM’s Passport Details 2016

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben Modi filed an RTI application the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Ahmedabad. She filed her application on 10th February 2016, Wednesday seeking details and a copy of the PM’s Passport.

According to her brother Ashok Modi, Jashodaben filed the RTI application to know about the marriage-related documents that Modi had submitted when he applied for his own passport during his tenure as Gujarat CM.

In November 2015, she failed to produce her marriage certificate or a joint affidavit with her spouse so Jashodaben was denied a passport. Jashodaben left office in 15 minutes after submitting an application. She went to the Regional Passport Office in an auto rickshaw. Jashodaben said that, “I have come for my personal work.” She wanted a passport to go abroad and meet relatives and friends of her family.

Regional Passport Officer ZA Khan said that, “Jashodaben came to the office today and filed an RTI application related to her passport. We will give her reply in due course.”

So last year her application was rejected. Because she failed to prove that she is married to Modi. While Narendra Modi had submitted details about the marriage related documents to get his passport when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Jashodaben is a retired school teacher and lives with her brother Ashok Modi at Unjha town of Mehsana district.
