Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated its 4th manufacturing plant on 17th February 2016 at Vithalapur from Ahmedabad District, Gujarat in India. This plant was inaugurated in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Honda Motor Co Operating Officer and Chief Operating Officer – Asia and Oceania Regional Operations Noriake Abe, Honda Motor Co operating officer, director and COO, motorcycle operations Shinji Aoyama, HMSI president and CEO Keita Muramatsu and HMSI chief Production officer Toshinobu Motai.

Plant is spread over 250 acres
Production Capacity is 12 Lacs Units Annually
2 Lines of Production
The first production line started commercial production from Wednesday. This line will produce 6 lakh units annually.
The Second production line will start from mid-2016 and it will add another 6 lakh units annually. So this plant will produce total 12 lakh units annually. The company has been invested INR 1,100 crore to build this plant. This plant created over 3,000 job opportunities.
In edition another 6,000 job opportunities have been created via their linked suppliers. So total the company has been invested INR 2,200 crore in Gujarat and brought in 9,000 new job opportunities in the state. On this occasion, the company gave a first scooter to CM Anandiben, which is produce in this manufacturing plant.
