Mumbai’s Pranav Dhanawade Scored 1009 Runs from 323 Balls

Pranav Dhanawade is a 15 year old School boy from Mumbai. Today was his day. Pranav became Hero on social media after he smashed 1009 runs in a single inning. Pranav Dhanawade hammered a world record score of 1009 not out for KC Gandhi High School Arya Gurukul during the H.T. Bhandari Cup inter-school cricket tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association on 4th January 2016.

Pranav Dhanawade said Sachin Tendulkar was his batting idol and Brad Haddin his wicketkeeping inspiration. Dhanawade’s innings was laced with 59 sixes and 129 fours and the runs came at a staggering strike-rate of 312.38 during the match at the Union Cricket Academy ground in Kalyan.

Pranav Dhanawade is a son of an auto-rickshaw driver. Pranav broke a 117-year-old record yesterday, 4th January 2016 surpassing Arthur Collins’s 628 not out scored in a Junior House Match in June, 1899 in England.

With Pranav’s achieving overnight fame, the Maharashtra government has decided to bear his coaching and education expenses.
