Let’s take a look at such upcoming biopics that are under making currently in Bollywood:
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has created a lot of buzz in the country by fabulous songs and epic trailer. Bajirao Mastani is set to release on 18 December 2015 which is based on life of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani’s love story. Bajirao Mastani movie star cast includes Ranveer Singh as Bajirao, Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai and Deepika Padukone as Mastani.
Dangal is based on the life of former wrestler and Coach Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his three daughters and one niece for the Commonwealth Games. His daughters Geeta, Babita, Kumari and niece Vinesh have been successful gold medalists. Dangal movie leas star is Aamir Khan and other actors are Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Shaikh and Rajkummar Rao. Dangal is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. Dangal film will be released during Christmas 2016.
Airlift movie trailer is released and it is praised by all cine lovers. Starring Akshay Kumar in lead role as Ranjit Katyal, Airlift is the story of Indians stranded in Kuwait during a traumatic time. A story of how they, with the help of Akshay Kumar as Ranjit Katyal, managed to survive the Iraqi invasion, and against all odds traveled a thousand kilometers across the border into Amman, Jordan. From Amman, 1,70,000 Indians were brought home by the largest and the most successful evacuation ever attempted by any country, in the history of the world. The film is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story:
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is a biopic movie of Indian Cricketer, Wicketkeeper and current ODI Captain Mahendrasingh Dhoni. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been working hard since months for his role as Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This movie shows the struggle and hardships which is faced by Dhoni on his journey of becoming Best Captain of Indian Team. The film is said to be a star studded affair with appearances by actors John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Ram Charan, Fawad Khan, Arjun Kapoor and more.
Balaji Motion will be presented the much-anticipated film Azhar, which is based on the life and times of former Indian cricket team skipper Mohammad Azharuddin played by Emraan Hashmi. The film will ensnare the three most important aspects of Azhar’s life- his faith in Allah, his two wives and his alleged involvement in the controversial match fixing episode. Azhar will be directed by Tony D’Souza and is slated to release on May 13, 2016.
Sarabjit Singh Biopic:
Sarabjit Singh was an Indian farmer who was caught by the Pakistani officials and convicted for being a spy and conspiring terrorism. He was sentenced to death, and was later slain when in captivity at Lahore jail in April 2013. The film stars Richa Chadda paired opposite actor Randeep Hooda who will be portraying the role of Sarabjit Singh in the film. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be essaying the role of Hooda’s sister that is Dalbir Kaur in the film.
Neerja Bhanot Biopic:
Another one of the highly anticipated films is based on the life of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life during a plane hijack near Pakistan. Neerja was murdered while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986 and has rightly been called India’s youngest brave heart. Sonam Kapoor will be portraying the lead role in the film.
Based on the historic win of Indian football team against the British club in the year 1911, the film will see John Abraham playing the role of Sibdas Bhaduri. Sibdas Bhaduri captained Mohun Bagan in the historic 1911 IFA Shield Final, where they defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment with a score of 2-1 to become the first Asian team to win the competition.
Based on the life of Maharashtra gangster Arun Gawli, Daddy will see Arjun Rampal in lead role. Gawli is currently serving his sentence for the murder of Shiv Sena leader Kamalakar Jamsandekar in 2008.
