Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case 2012 Victim Name Revealed : Violence against women continues

It has been 3 years for the verdict of Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case in Delhi, India. On Yesterday, 16 December 2015 the ‘Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case’ completed 3 years. On 16 December 2012,   The 23-year-old student was gang raped in a moving bus and brutally assaulted in New Delhi which protested over the India’s high levels of violence against women.

Nirabhaya’s Mother revealed her daughter’s name after 3 years of that incident on 16 December 2015. Nirbhaya’s mother revealed her daughter’s name by saying, “My daughter was Jyoti Singh and I am not ashamed to name her.”

“I am not ashamed of taking my daughter’s name. Whoever has suffered should not hide their name. It is the offenders who should be ashamed and hide their name. I want to tell everyone that my daughter’s name was Jyoti Singh. From today, everyone should know her as Jyoti Singh,” Asha Devi, mother of Nirbhaya said.

Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case 2012 Verdict:

Nirbhaya, a name given to her by the Indian media, was returning after watching a movie on 16 December 2012, with her friend. Jyoti Singh Pandey was physiotherapy Intern. Jyoti and her friend Awindra boarded an off-duty charter bus at Munirka for Dwarka that was being driven by joyriders at about 9:30 pm. There were only six others on the bus, including the driver.

The traveling persons in the bus shut the doors and attacked the couple. They all gang raped Jyoti and also attacked brutally and subdued Jyoti’s friend on the bus. The victims were later thrown out of the bus. Nirbhaya later died of the injuries she sustained in that attack.

Women Safety After 3 Years of Nirbhaya Case:

Still now, we are getting news of gang rapes, sexual harassments, murder, human trafficking and domestic violence on women.

Are We, Indians and media only waken up to oppose the Government at any situation or to arrange a candle march and blame our system all the time?????
