According to the reporters, Chandubhai Virani was doing job of selling sandwiches in Rajkot near Astron Cinema. He also sold roasted peanuts (in gujarati Shing) and by this only he got the idea of wafers. Today in Valsad, balaji wafers have a biggest plant in the area of 35 acres.
Newly technolyzed machines are now available for the manufacturing of Balaji Wafers. Today in not only in every city but also in every village to village Balaji Wafers are famous.
Not only this, in Europe, London and America Balaji Wafers also supplied. There are 600 dealers of Balaji Wafers.
How the wafer got name ‘Balaji’:
According to Chandubhai Virani, he was working in the cinema at that time he had a faith in Hanumanji. He always started his work with worshiping Hanumanji. So he thinks he got his way to success due to God Hanumanji only, so he name as ‘Balaji’. Today also he is a great devotee of God Balaji.
He started his business by selling wafers in cinema hall canteen. After 1983 he used to sell balaji wafers in that plastic bag he used to write balaji on that packet. Due to this balaji brand was given birth.
