Partner/Couple Yoga Poses : Boost Your Relationship and Health with Partner Yoga

Yoga is the Best form of exercise and recently the World celebrated first International yoga Day on 21 June 2015. Yoga helps your body, mind as well as your soul. With solo Yoga exercise, now people are trying Partner/Couple Yoga poses which not only benefits your health but also your relationship.

In Partner/Couple Yoga, two partners are dependent on each other which needs a better communication and intimacy. So doing yoga with your partner/soulmate boost your relationship. There are many Yoga poses are available for Partner yoga but here we have some easy and quick Partner yoga poses which you can do with your partner at your home.

Partner/Couple Yoga Poses :

Arching Heart Pose –

Arching Heart pose of Partner Yoga will increase flexibility in your spine and also opening the chest and shoulders also makes you feel lightness and love in your heart.

Double Down Dog Pose –

This Down Dog partner pose feels great for both people. The person on the bottom acquires a pleasant lower-back release and can deepen the stretch in the confines. The person on top gets to work on their upper-body strength in preparation for doing handstands.

Buddy Boat Pose (Navasana) –

In this Buddy Boat pose or Navasana, with your partner, you have to sit facing each other, then bend both your legs and bring your knees near to your chest. Hold each other’s hand and slowly stretch your left leg and let it touch the right leg of your partner and vice-versa. Now, try to lift your legs in the upwards direction while keeping your spine straight. Then, slowly press the sole of your feet with that of your partner’s.

Triple Hill Pose –

Triple Hill Pose, is something that you must try with your partner. Stand in front of your partner about a foot apart. Now, slowly bend down facing each other, until your hips are over your heels. Now take a few steps backwards to make sure your forehead touches with that of your partner’s.

Hand-holding Seated Twist Pose –

In hand Holding seated twist pose, both persons need to sit cross-legged, facing each other. Inhale and stretch your spine. Then breathe out and turn to your right, stretching your right arm behind your back to hold the left hand of your partner. And, with your left arm, try to hold your partner’s right hand.

Child’s Pose Lounge Pose –

Child’s Pose Lounge pose is a pose which relax your partner. This relaxing partner yoga pose gives one person an amazingly deep stretch in the lower back and stretches the abs, chest, and arms of the person on top.

Forward bend/backbend Pose –

One partner take a seated forward bend either bound angle pose (baddha konasana) or for greater intensity seated forward bend (paschimottanasana). Other partner, sit on your seated partner’s lower back and rest into a backbend. Then take your arms up and out into cactus position. Your seated partner can gently reach up and pull your wrists forward to add a shoulder opener. Stay here for about 10 breaths, then trade places.

Side-by-side Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar) –

Start your day with Sun Salutation or Surya Namaskar. Do about five to ten rounds of Sun Salutation standing side-by-side with your partner. Your movement should be in-sync with your partner.

As regular exercises, after done with Yoga, go for Shavasana next to each other for 5 to 10 minutes and relax your body and after that if you have some time then have some refreshing talks. It will surely deepen your relationship and so does your physical and mental health.

Spend some time together connecting with your loving person by doing some partner/couple yoga.
