Amarnath Yatra 2015 Dates – Shiva Linga Naturally Made of Ice in India

Amarnath Yatra is a popular for Hindus. Inside the 40 m high Amarnath cave, the pillar is formed due to freezing of water drops that fall from the roof of the cave on to the floor and grows up vertically from the cave floor. It is considered to be a Shiva Linga by Hindus. So Amarnath Temple is worshipped as a Shiva Linga naturally made of Ice in India.

Amarnath Yatra 2015 dates are declared from 2nd July to 29th August 2015 and this year the Holy Amarnath Yatra will be open for 59 days. Every year Jammu Kashmir State Government is organizing in collaboration with the Shree Amarnath Yatra trust, Amarnath temple Yatra and generally dates are selected from Last week of June or first week of July month.

Amanrath Yatra has two Routes one is through Jammu- Srinagar- Sonamarg- Baltal- Sangam- Holy cave and other route is  Jammu- Patnitop- Pahalgam- Chandanwari- Sheshnag- Pissutop- Panchtarni- Sangam- Holy Cave.  Devotees travel on foot, either from Srinagar or from Pahalgam. The latter journey takes approximately 5 days.

It is believed that Lord Shiva left Nandi, The Bull, at Pahalgam (Bail Gaon). At Chandanwari, he released the Moon from his hair (Jataon). On the banks of Lake Sheshnag, he released his snakes. At Mahagunas Parvat (Mahaganesh Mountain), he left his son Lord Ganesha. At Panjtarni, Lord Shiva left behind the five elements – Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky. As a symbol of sacrificing the earthly world, Lord Shiva performed the Tandava Dance. Then, finally, Lord Shiva entered the Holy Amarnath Cave along with Parvati.

Lord Shiva is known to have made his adobe in the Himalayas. He built no house nor shelter, not for himself or his consort, Goddess Parvati. Situated in a narrow gorge at the farther end of Lidder valley, Shri Amarnathji Cave Shrine stands at 3,888 m and is 45 km from Pahalgam and 141 km from Srinagar.

Many tour packages are available for Amarnath Yatra. Amarnath Yatra packages are available from Rajkot, Ahmedabad tour operators and even from Delhi and other cities.  If someone is unable to reach Amarnath temple by walk or using dolly, then Helicopter service packages are also available.

Amarnath Yatra 2015 registration form is open and you can register online and you also need to pass medical tests as Amarnath Yatra is not so easy that everyone can reach and take blessings of Baba Amarnath.

It is believed that every Hindu should visit Amarnath temple once in their lifetime.
