US President Barack Obama will visit India in January 2015. Indian PM Narendra Modi has sent invitation to US President Barack Obama to be a Chief Guest during upcoming Republic Day celebration in India in January 2015.
US President Obama has accepted invitation from Indian PM and now it is confirmed that US President Obama will visit India in January 2015 and he will be chief guest of our country’s upcoming Republic Day on 26 January. Obama will have two day trip to India on 25 and 26 January 2015.
The invitation to US President Obama comes some weeks after PM Modi’s massively successful visit to the US. Modi and Obama also met in Brisbane on Nov 14 during the sidelines of G20 summit. Obama had called Modi a “man of action.”
This will be Obama’s second visit to India. He had visited India in 2010 at the invitation of then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and had addressed a joint session of Parliament. This time Obama may visit Taj Mahal, the monument of love in Agra city. Obama is a self-confessed hero of Gandhiji so he will visit Rajghat during his visit in 2015 January.
The US Secret services, who is responsible for US President’s safety will visit to India and conduct checking in ITC Maurya where Obama will stay and other venues where US President will visit. Still it is not declared whaether Obama’s wife will come along with him or not.
Barack Obama will be the first US President to be a chief guest on Republic Day of India. The visit reflects the revival of ties between the two governments after Modi’s visit to the US in September.
